EVALUASI KINERJA KOPERASI PERTANIAN DALAM MENDUKUNG PEREKONOMIAN DESA

This article discusses the evaluation of agricultural cooperative performance in supporting rural economies in Indonesia. The agricultural sector remains the backbone of many rural economies in Indonesia, and the role of agricultural cooperatives is crucial in driving it. These cooperatives not only provide a means for the procurement of agricultural inputs, processing of agricultural products, and the distribution of harvests but also play a role in building social solidarity and empowering rural communities. Relevant research has revealed various aspects of agricultural cooperative performance in Indonesia. Financial performance of cooperatives shows positive trends, with significant growth in revenue and strong profits. However, it is important to note that the dominance of external capital, especially in the form of debt, is a critical issue that needs to be addressed. Furthermore,
non-financial performance of cooperatives is declining, reflecting issues in management and operations. The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) approach is used to evaluate the performance of agricultural cooperatives by considering four main perspectives: financial, internal processes, customers, and learning and growth. This provides a holistic view of cooperatives' contributions to rural economic development. Additionally, the research also includes an analysis of cooperative performance from internal factors, such as management, finance, and human resources. This helps identify areas for improvement in cooperative management, which can enhance their contributions to the rural economy. In conclusion, agricultural cooperatives play a vital role in supporting rural economies in Indonesia. Evaluating cooperative performance, both in financial and non-financial aspects, is essential to ensure sustainability and a more significant role in supporting rural economic growth. Proactive measures in management, human resource development, and investment are required to optimize the contributions of agricultural cooperatives in building more prosperous and sustainable villages.
